Microsoft’s Live.com will soon be transformed into a full fledged social networking website. A user
will be asked to create a profile after which he’ll be able to access IM, e-mail, share photos, files and even connect to their favorite people instantly. Microsoft is also touting support of 50 partners where the user can bring in content from a RSS feed or many other sites like Flickr, Twitter etc.
As Michael Arrington of TechCrunch points out, Microsoft is smartly banking on its strengths which in their case is instant messaging users. According to Comscore, Live Messenger has 268 million users, by far the highest when compared to Yahoo or Google.
The Live social network is currently tagged as ‘Coming soon’ so expect it to roll out soon for the Indian region.

In my opinion, social networking sites have had their days and time -
I recently removed and deleted my Facebook subscription a couple of weeks back, as it was taking most of my free time; and some of my long lost friend (those I didn’t like in the first place) kept trying to know what I was up to.
Microsoft’s catch-up game is not going to work, I’m afraid. But I wish them the very best.
Nice blog by the way
